The material is a carbon reinforced plastic that is temperature, chemical, and impact resistant. No worries with your hot turbo right next to this piece, it will be just fine. 
 
Paint does not stick well to this material and the finish of the print may vary from the pictures. If you clear coat the top the finish might disappear.
